Title Webpage Layout Examples

The home page of Stuart Moulthrop illustrates an excellent use of white space on a simple, clean layout.

Look at how simple and effective the layout of the Google search page is.  The Yahoo page is also rather well done, displaying a lot of information and links although it can get cluttered at times.

Since I am partial to the use of white space, check out the Amiens Cathedral Web Site at Columbia University (The page could use some explicit directions on proceeding further into the site.); the rest of the site, though showing impressive materials, gets a bit busy.

The Dogwood Project home page has a straight-forward layout with a background image and short explanations for the links.

The Romantic Circles site has a great use of circular images with a really nice layout (alhtough I would have though the use of pink/red instead of blue would be more appropriate).  Really well done mouse-over images in the center of the page make navigation simple; easy to find search option also.

Ancient India, what a wonderfully designed page, a great image and clear links; very minimalist!

The Medici Archive Project is not quite so flashy. but clearly organized, decnt color selection.

The Stonehenge Project is very well done, nice graphics, colors and layout, minimal amount of text on intro page.

Churchill and the Great Republic uses a really great image and some complementary color to go along with the minimum necesary text and links.  In this case, it is the single image of Churchill that dominates the page.

The Mongols in World History page uses an effective combination of colors, a really great image-based timeline (with roll-over effective) in the center of the page and then another set of navigation links down the right side of the page; very well done.

A favorite of mine, Sauerkraut Recipes.com has great color and images, some white space and clear navigation layout.  There is also a search option in an easy-to-find place on the page.
