In the twentieth century, there were football rivalries everywhere in the greater Lehigh Valley. In 1935, these games were being played on Thanksgiving Day.
- Phillipsburg 24 v Easton 0 (While the two teams first played in 1894, the 1905 game is considered to be the start of the modern series. The first game played on Thanksgiving was in 1916, and the games have been played at Lafayette College’s Fisher Field ever since the field opened in 1926.)
- Allentown 0 v Bethlehem (Liberty) 12 (The series began in 1920 with the first Thanksgiving game played in 1921.)
- Pen Argyl 0 v Bangor 6 (The first game was in 1919 with the games between 1928 and 1974 played on Thanksgiving.)
- Catasauqua 12 v Northampton 13 (The Thanksgiving rivalry started in 1925. Between 1930 and 1968, many of the games were played on a neutral field in Allentown.)
- Nazareth 33 v Wilson 0 (The first Thanksgiving game was in 1926, and the last game was in 1975.)
- Emmaus 7 v Whitehall 0 (The series started in 1928 with the first Thanksgiving game played in 1935. The last Thanksgiving game was in 1993.)
- Stroudsburg 0 v Lehighton 6 (These two teams began playing each other in 1925 with the Thanksgiving series taking place between 1933 and 1949.)
- Quakertown 6 v Sellersville-Perkasie 14
- Coaldale 2 v Lansford 0 (Games in this series began in 1919 with the Thanksgiving series starting in 1932. The last game was in 1963. In 1964 Panther Valley High School started, a merger of the former Lansford, Coaldale, Nesquehoning and Summit Hill high schools.)
- Slatington 2 v Palmerton 13
Note that the 1935 season was the first for the eight-team Lehigh Valley League consisting of Catasauqua, Emmaus, Lehighton, Northampton, Palmerton, Slatington, Stroudsburg and Whitehall. The league lasted until 1974.

As of 1974, many of these rivalry games were still being played on Thanksgiving Day.

- Pennridge 14 v Quakertown 12 (This rivalry dated back to 1930.)
- Stroudsburg 26 v East Stroudsburg 31 (While the first game between these two teams was played in 1945 and a Thanksgiving game occurred in 1946, the Thanksgiving series really started in 1952 and lasted through 2013.)
- Upper Perkiomen 7 v Souderton 26 (This Thanksgiving Day series started in 1955.)
- Palmerton 6 v Slatington 14 (This was the last Thanksgiving game in the series.)
By Thanksgiving Day 2023, there were only two of these rivalries still being played.
- Phillipsburg 47 v Easton 12
- Northampton 47 v Catasauqua 7 (There are still rumors that this Thanksgiving game rivalry will end sometime. The 2023 game was the 100th in the series.)
