This is the surviving Auschwitz crematorium that was rebuilt (better to say recreated from pieces) after World War II. The crematoria at Auschwitz/Birkenau were expertly designed by German engineers to achieve maximum efficiency in disposing of human bodies. I am not sure of the exact figure, but I think that it took about twenty minutes of so to turn a load of bodies into a pile of some ashes.
