Once the bodies were turned into ash, then those ashes had to be removed so that more bodies could be burned. The cremation tasks were all handled by Jewish prisoners. The prisoners pulled the dead bodies from the gas chambers, carried them to the ovens, loaded them in the ovens and then removed and disposed of the ashes.
