You can find a lot of interesting items that have special historical significance for sale on some online auctions.  Here is what you should do:

  1. Locate an online auction, such as Ebay, Amazon or Yahoo, or decide to use a search engine such as Google, Hotbot or Dogpile.

  2. Decide on some key words to use in your search; the better your key word, the more interesting the items that you will find. For example, "Peter the Great" will return a more specific list of items than "Russian history" will.

  3. You can search for anything dealing with Russian history within the chronological (1600-2000) boundaries of the course.

  4. Find an interesting item.

  5. Be prepared to present your item (know your URL), its historical significance and its interest to you and to the class.  Five minutes maximum.
