History Sites Search Guidelines

Instructions

Listen to some further instructions about searching for history web sites as a mp3 file. You can also read the information as a txt file.

Please follow this http://164.106.136.5/websites/Search.html" (no longer available) to search the database of history web sites. (If that website is unavailable, try eli.nvcc.edu/history/Websites/Search.asp (also no longer available).

These sites can be used to supplement your textbook reading and the material on the course web site. Although you will not be explicitly tested on the information from any of these sites, the sites can help you in your preparation for the exams and the assigned papers, especially the current events assignment in HIS 135.

When you reach the search page, you will find a selector menu to search for applicable history websites for your course. Click once on the course unit with the left button of your mouse to highlight the unit. Then, when you click on the "Start Search" button, you will receive a list of applicable web sites to that course unit. From the list of web sites, you can then click on a highlighted URL to view a specific web site.

Please contact your instructor if you have any questions or problems. Please also contact me if you find a particular link that does not work (This is a very common problem.).
