Frank Charles Tergo (1919-2005) was the youngest of three sons of Stephen (1883-1963) and Suzanne née Pollack (1885-1952). His siblings were Steve Jr. (1912-1992), Joseph (1914-1989) and Anna (1910-1984). All three sons were Palmerton athletes.

Frank Tergo was a multi-year letter winner at Palmerton High School, including lettering in four sports his senior year (football, basketball, baseball and track). On the 1937 football team, he was quarterback and captain. In 2002, he was inducted into the Carbon County Hall of Fame.
During World War II, he was drafted and served in the US army. The Morning Call recounted the events surrounding his induction.
- Friday May 16th, he resigned from the Coca Cola Bottling Co in Palmerton.
- Saturday May 17th, he married Elizabeth “Betty” Schmidt (1922-1979).
- Sunday May 18th and Monday May 19th, they spent their honeymoon in New York.
- Tuesday May 20th, they returned to Palmerton.
- Thursday May 22nd, he left for Wilkes Barre where he was inducted.
Besides working for Coca Cola, Tergo was also a postal carrier in Palmerton and then in Walnutport. He was also the steward for the Hungarian Club in Palmerton for seventeen years. Since my parents were members of the Hungarian Club and since my dad was steward of the American Legion post in Slatington, I’m sure that they knew one another.
Frank and Betty Tergo had two daughters.
The Tergos were buried in Sacred Heart New Cemetery, Palmerton.
