The conference, entitled "Advancing the Humanities Through Technology at Community Colleges," will
convene at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA on 2-5 December 1999. The conference
will present new approaches to the study and teaching of the humanities and allow three-member
teams (two humanities faculty--one with technology experience--and an administrator) from
sixteen competitively-selected community colleges to discuss ideas and
approaches about integrating technology into their humanities
curriculums and to develop action plans for applying new pedagogical
techniques, courses and resources. The teams will work intensively over the
three and one-half days of the conference with pre-assigned mentors. Housing will be
at the Comfort Inn, University Center, 11180 Main Street, Fairfax VA (703.591.5900).
